I tinker with my SnapMaker (3-in-one) machine in the late evening as it often takes hours before it completes the job. This way if everything runs as planned I will find a beautiful 3D printed item waiting for me in the morning. The Snapmaker is also a laser engraver and CNC milling machine but this is not something I use very often.
There is an enormous amount of FREE 3D designs available online that makes getting started easier. My wife loves the little trinket box I found here:

We have several boxes made from the different filaments and even a wood version that prints beautifully. I've made a dozen different tools and jigs to simplify my projects and repair things around the house.
